How can you manage your daily stress?

Hello!

Are you are juggling everything all of the time and feel the pull of stress most days?

Everyone feels stressed from time to time. A little stress is healthy. But too much stress over a prolonged period of time, can be harmful to your health and steels your joy in life.

April is Stress Awareness Month! Doodle Lovely brings awareness, education and tools as a guide to help you better deal with your stress.

How can you manage your daily stress?

1) Drink lots of water – Even a little bit of dehydration can cause cortisol levels in the body to increase and lead to stress. So up your water intake! This way your brain can balance its chemicals and you can feel less stressed!

2) Get more sleep – This is tricky as stress often keeps us up! Start your bedtime routine .5 hour earlier if you can so that you can unwind. Put technology away 1 hour before you go to bed. Take a hot bath or shower. Do a quiet activity such as writing, doodling or reading.

3) Implement a morning routine – Wake up .5 hour earlier than everyone else, so you can enjoy quiet time for you to start the day!

4) Eat food that makes you feel better – Instead of grabbing foods that are high in sugar or carbohydrates leading us to often feeling more stress, check out these stress-busting foods, click here.

5) Relax through creativity – Spend five minutes daily to decompress through creativity. Start now.

6) Exercise – Walk, run, do yoga, or hold a plank for 20 seconds. Anything that can get your blood moving!

7) Implement breathing exercise – Click here for breathing techniques.

8) Plan one evening each week designated to rest – NO to-do’s or rushing around.

9) Say NO to anything extra you do not want or need to do!

10) Be gentle with yourself, do one thing at a time.

Pick one thing from the list above, implement and do daily. It is always reassuring to know that many things can help you reduce your stress!
